June and September are ideal — warm Mistral breezes, less crowded anchorages and lower rates than July–August peak. July–August sees the Riviera at maximum capacity: anchorages in St-Tropez are crowded but the atmosphere is electric. The Cannes Film Festival (May) creates exceptional demand for yacht berths.
